The Fall 2011 update to Windows Phone (codenamed “Mango”) offers a range of new and changing features for both consumers and developers. One of the most impactful for game developers is Fast Application Switching (FAS), a feature that offers an opportunity for titles to, in some scenarios, bypass the “Resuming…” screen and recovery time experience otherwise seen when a title restarts after an interruption.
